The windows of my soul are made of one way glass

It really comes down to the eyes, though she wish it didn't.

When Leah arrived at Hogwarts: secretive, awkward and gangly, her eyes were aggressive, untrusting, and when it came to meal times, much much bigger than her stomach. They tracked people around her, darting from person to person as she kept track of everyone, and at first they didn't respond even when her mouth was smiling.

Then she relaxed, and her eyes learned to laugh. To take in every detail about the castle that became her year-round home. To scan pages for the important details and disregard the rest. To keep track of four balls and fourteen broomsticks all at once. She discovered a talent for Quidditch, and suddenly the quiet, moody girl became thrust into popularity.

She never stopped observing.

When she left Hogwarts, it was only natural she become a professional Quidditch player: The Appleby Arrows snapped her up, and during international season she played Seeker for England. You'd think she'd have no time for anything else, but somehow...

...well, nothing was on the record. And nothing can be proven.

But it certainly wasn't Quidditch that brought her in direct contact with dark wizards. Their agenda must certainly have been bigger than who would win the Cup this season.

It certainly wasn't Quidditch that cost her her eyes.

Luckily, St Mungo's being what they are, replacements were available. Unluckily, prosthetic eyes violate International Quidditch Regulations, and her sports career was at an end.

So after a couple of years' absence from the public eye, Leah Ross returned to Hogwarts as Professor Ross, teacher of History of Magic, with a hands-on, look-at-that-damn-tower approach, and two magical eyes that never seem to stay still long enough to synchronise.

She laughs a lot. So perhaps she'd not in all that much pain anymore.

Why don't you give me a call, when you decide you're willing to fight for what you think is real, for what you think is right.
